Glass Art

Building on my previous experience of working with stained glass using traditional methods, I have developed a technique for enhancing the properties of the glass  – colour, texture, translucency – using an acrylic paint medium to create small seascape paintings. The background opaque glass surface provides the inspiration for the work and affects the amount and way the paint is applied, giving the finished artwork a unique ‘feel’ and depth. 

Now based in Newton Stewart, I continue to appreciate the natural beauty and variety of the local landscape here in Dumfries and Galloway and its influence on my work.
