We are a group of professional artists from across Dumfries and Galloway. We have 3 shops, in Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet. In Gatehouse the shop is based in The Mill on the Fleet visitor centre and is seasonal – open March to October each year.  Artists are selected for the quality of their work, and each shop offers a vibrant mix of beautifully crafted ceramics, glass, illustration, jewellery, metals, artwork, paper craft, photography, textiles, wood, prints and cards.

Run as a co-operative, all members contribute to their share of the rent and running costs in each shop, but also share their skills and talents in the running of the co-operative. Members take turns staffing the shops, greeting customers and handling sales. Operating in this way, means co-operative members enjoy commission-free sales, along with being part of a network with other creative people.

PA Pop-up started out as ‘pop-up shop’ in Kirkcudbright, for a few weeks in the Summer of 2015. From that successful opening the organisation has developed to where we are today. With 3 shops and 30+ artists and makers. We believe it’s the quality of the work, and friendliness of the artists that have contributed to the groups continued success.

In 2018 we became a registered company  PA POP-UP LIMITED.

APPLYING TO JOIN US

If you’re interested in joining our group we’d be delighted to hear from you. Please fill in the form below to apply online. We will make a note of your expression of interest and acknowledge receipt of your form.

Each shop considers possible joiners when an opening arises, so you may not get a space immediately.  This is because we look for people who’s work fits in, not just in terms of quality, but which also fits well with the existing work in the shops you’ve applied for.

Please note that as part of the collective, each member is required to help cover shifts in the shops they are part of. All members are encouraged to fulfil roles that are necessary to the running and promoting of the shop, as well as paying their share of rent and any incidental expenses (packaging, printing etc.).

If you would like more information about us please take a look at this Introduction.
