Dalbeattie Wood
Sam and Edward of Dalbeattie Wood are passionate creators dedicated to bringing nature closer to families through their unique, handcrafted products.
They have used their extensive experience as Forest School leaders and Montessori teachers to create a range of engaging family workshops and ergonomic nature exploration tools for children and families to enjoy.
Dalbeattie Wood designs all their nature exploration tools from scratch. A child’s capacity to learn and enjoy learning is vast, and making products that tap into this curiosity is at the core of Dalbeattie Wood’s creative process.
The products are made using birch veneered plywood, engraved and cut using CNC laser machines. This technique allows for the creation of ergonomic and child-friendly products. The products are often composite, consisting of plywood sheets cut to shape and then glued together.
The illustrations used on the products are predominantly designed by Sam and Edward. These images are created as vectors, sometimes from scratch and sometimes drawn by hand on paper and then converted through a process of digitisation.
Dalbeattie Wood has a shop at 27 High Street, Dalbeattie, where we offer families and children the opportunity to make their own creations with a variety of wood-based and recycled material activities.
Dalbeattie Wood offers a variety of nature-based items designed to inspire creativity and exploration among children and families.
