Julie Hollis

The open skies, mercurial weather and fragile shores of the Solway Coast form a huge inspiration for Julie’s work. She enjoys depicting high contrast days, with huge stormy skies, focusing on the juxtaposition between the strength and the fragility of nature – often in the same image.

Although she uses a variety of media, Julie is presently exploring print making in its analogue and digital forms. A technique of layering base photographs with photographs of natural and man made textures is Julie’s current passion.
