“Waiting”    private collection                                                 ” Seascape II”  sold July 2017

I took up painting after moving to Dumfries and Galloway in 2005.  It was a lovely man called Derek Budd, who ran the Stewartry U3A art group, that set me on my way.  A week at summer art school back in 2010 with Hazel Campbell, opened my mind to many different styles of painting.  Several years of painting (and chatting) at the Castle Douglas Art for All group (run by the extremely patient Jean Redden) allowed me to experiment with different media and styles.

I exhibited as part of the Art for All exhibition at the Tolbooth Gallery in Kirkcudbright in 2013 and I was delighted to sell 9 paintings which gave me more confidence.

I applied for and was offered, a solo exhibition at the Tolbooth for 2016 but personal circumstances changed and I had to let the opportunity go.  Unfortunately over the past few years ‘real life’ has got in the way and I’ve rarely picked up my brushes.   For me, this exciting new venture will inspire me to paint again and find the time to do something I love.
