Lynn is based in Wigtown and her work with stained glass is influenced by the stunning scenery of the Machars. Her signature ‘Galloway Hills’ tealights are unique, free standing pieces – with careful selection of glass to capture texture, colour and feeling of the local landscape. She also likes to work with agate complementing the shape and shades of the slices with sea glass to develop the more abstract pieces of the ‘Shoreline’ range. Once the design has been finalised, each piece of glass is copper foiled and then soldered, using a high quality solder. The solder lines play an important part in the work – catching the light and adding to the contemporary feel of the piece. The aim is to keep the work simple to show the beauty of the glass. Lynn also undertakes commissions for larger panels – leaded or copper foiled – dependent on size and has also undertaken restoration work.
