Jay Rubinstein

I make decorative items out of wood, including mobiles based on poems, jewellery boxes and bookends.  The mobiles below are two recent items but you can see much more at either our Gatehouse or our Kirkcudbright shop.

I’m showing a couple of recent items below.

Swan Reflection

“This is how we live,
Coming and going through each other.”

This mobile was inspired by Imtiaz Dharker’s poem “Invisible” in which a swan studies its reflection in the water, seeing in the image a lost (dead) lover.

Thought fox

This mobile is based on a poem by Ted Hughes in which the fox is not only an elusive and hesitant creature but also a vagrant thought and an almost-poem.  You can see the mobile at our Kirkcudbright shop

Hi, Neat post. There is an issue together with your web site
in web explorer, would check this? IE nonetheless
is the market leader and a big portion of other folks will pass over your wonderful writing due to this problem.
Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site.

It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal.
I must say you’ve done a excellent job with this.
In addition, the blog loads super quick for me on Firefox.
Exceptional Blog! I love what you guys tend to be up too.
